Galvorn Kinetic Facade
In this proposal, we seek to explore the potential of CNT fiber materials, Galvorn, for the design and construction of kinetic façade components.
Carbon Nanotube (CNT) fibers possess extraordinary mechanical and electrical properties. They look and act like textile threads while conducting electricity and heat like a metal wire. Moreover, they can be synthesized from natural gas without carbon dioxide emissions, offering a pathway to fix carbon from fossil hydrocarbons into useful solids while unlocking the clean energy of the hydrogen contained in those hydrocarbons. These outstanding properties, together with their aesthetic qualities, make CNT fibers an exceptional material for investigating their application in the design and construction of lightweight and responsive building components.
